My Story
Jeffery Gitt began his real estate journey in St. Louis, guided by his father and uncle at Gitt & Sons Real Estate, a company founded by his grandfather nearly 100 years ago. Initially expanding into apartment real estate, Jeff earned over a million dollars by the age of 30 by purchasing properties at a low cost, adding value, and reselling them. In the 1970s, this was a significant achievement!
Building on his success, he launched Apartment Cinema, the first of its kind in the area. This innovative approach helped landlords fill vacancies. Potential renters could visit Apartment Cinema to view photos and details of various apartment complexes in one location, eliminating the need to spend an entire Sunday afternoon driving around St. Louis.
Jeff transitioned into commercial real estate after 15 years of buying and selling apartments. Here, he leveraged his skill in identifying undervalued properties, adding value, and making them profitable. Years later, he established 1031-NNN Properties, specializing in triple-net and double-net deals and 1031 exchanges. This venture eventually evolved into Westwood Net Lease Advisors, LLC, a prominent website for 1031 triple-net transactions, boasting considerable popularity in the commercial real estate sector. The team at Westwood has successfully completed over $1 billion in transactions in recent years, including a remarkable $90 million 1031 trade for a client.
Over the course of his career, Jeff has owned and operated over three million square feet of diverse asset types, including office spaces, warehouses, airport parking lots, apartments, strip centers, and single and double-net retail properties. He has also developed numerous commercial buildings. In short, Jeff has extensive experience in all facets of commercial real estate, including buying and leasing, selling and creating, and finding equity partners for larger deals.
Now, at 77, Jeff has decided to retire from Westwood. While he considered stepping away from real estate altogether, he realized he would likely be bored and restless. Passionate about his work, he started a smaller boutique firm, Gitt Realty Service, LLC, where he guides investors, sellers, and independent brokers through real estate transactions. With his vast experience and a love for engaging with people across the country and around the world, Jeff is well-equipped to solve any commercial real estate problem. With access to off-market deals and extensive relationships, he can assist you with all your real estate needs from start to finish.
